Shaping the Hybrid Intelligence Society: Complementarity, Co-Learning, and Human Values
Hybrid Human-Artificial Intelligence (HHAI) explores how humans and AI can work together by combining their complementary strengths. Rather than replacing human intelligence, Hybrid Intelligence aims to develop adaptive, collaborative, responsible, and human-centred systems that support human capabilities, learning, decision-making, creativity, and well-being.
The theme “Shaping the Hybrid Intelligence Society: Complementarity, Co-Learning, and Human Values” highlights the growing role of human-AI collaboration in shaping technologies, organisations, communities, and society. As AI becomes increasingly embedded in everyday life and work, important questions arise: How can humans and AI learn from and adapt to one another? How can human agency and meaningful human control be preserved? How can human values guide the design, development, and use of intelligent systems?
HHAI 2027 welcomes interdisciplinary contributions that advance the understanding and development of adaptive, collaborative, trustworthy, responsible, and ethical human-AI systems. We particularly encourage research on complementarity between human and artificial intelligence, co-learning and co-evolution, and the societal implications of increasingly integrated human-AI systems.
Contributions are invited from the fields of AI, HCI, cognitive and social sciences, philosophy and ethics, law and policy, design, complex systems, and related fields.
